Happy June & Pride month to you all.
The British weather has done what it usually does and has gone from bright sunshine at the end of May to heavy rain and overcast skies for the start of June. I usually prefer it a little colder and wetter but today I had to buy new wellies while out because my converse are full of holes and I didn’t want wet feet!

My June TBR is a little basic, mostly because I’ve fallen behind with my masters lectures and need to chat up desperately.

My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix
I’m already 45% through this one (I’ve set my Kobo to give me percentages, so I don’t focus on the page number while I’m reading) and am liking it a lot! It’s set in late 80s Charleston, South Carolina – one of the US cities I’ve actually visited. It feels like a Stephen King novel mixed with a teen 80s classic movie. I have to say, Grady Hendrix gets some of the most captivating covers in modern horror.

Forged by Betrayal and Blood by Helen Garraway
This is a brand new indie epic fantasy I picked up last month from MCM London Comic Con. One of my reading goals for this year was to read more self-published fantasy as its released, hopefully to give indie authors a little boost as it’s already so hard for them to reach new readers without the backing from a major publisher. I made a book launch post for Forged by Betrayal and Blood the other day, check it out here!

Time-Marked Warlock by Shami Stovall
I’ve been reading Time-Marked Warlock as part of the BBNYA Finalist 2025 Book Tour series. The book follows Finch, a Warlock with the ability to manipulate time, while he tries to discover the murderer of a witch and former friend at the request of her daughter.

Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin
House of the Dragon Season 3 begins 21st June! Unfortunately, I did end up falling behind on my A Song of Ice and Fire readalong but I plan on picking it up again for the rest of the year. I started reading Fire and Blood a few years ago and stopped for whatever reason.
