One of my reading goals of 2026 is to get through some of the backlog on my bookshelves (and Kobo e-reader). I already own all of these books, either physically or digitally. Here are three of the trilogies on my shelves I’m prioritising to finish in 2026.
The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb

Often described as the ultimate medieval fantasy series, The Realm of the Elderlings is a heavy hitter of modern fantasy. The Farseer Trilogy has been on my to-read list for many years, pretty much since I started my book blog way back in 2016. I’m not going to commit to Robin Hobb’s entire 16 book saga in 2026, as I’m already doing a read-a-long for George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.
The Bloodsworn Saga by John Qwynne

I read The Shadow of the Gods way back in 2022 and loved it! The Bloodsworn Saga is an epic fantasy trilogy inspired by Norse Mythology. John Qwynne is slowly but surely becoming one of the biggest names in fantasy. His character work and battle scenes are up there with some of the best fantasy authors around today. I own all of these in first edition signed hardback (I pre-ordered them all), so really I had no excuse to wait this long to finish the trilogy.
Age of Madness Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie

I am a huge fan of Joe Abercrombie and the world of the First Law. I read the First Law Trilogy and the Great Leveller standalones a few years ago but just didn’t get around to starting Age of Madness. I’m really keen to get them finished in 2026 as it’ll be the largest fantasy series I’ve finished to date!
QOTD: What fantasy trilogies are you planning on starting/finishing in 2026?
