Hello bookworms, happy WWW Wednesday. I know I missed last week (again, sorry). I didn’t have any reading to update you on so I skipped it. I’ve got one month left before this semester’s exam season so my revision has moved up a gear. July will be another busy month for me – with both reading and revising!

This book tag is hosted by Taking On a World of Words, its a set of three questions asked of book bloggers weekly to see how their reading is getting on.

What are you currently reading?

I’m STILL reading The Lone Wolf Café by Sydney Wilder and Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab! 🙃 I’m really enjoying both of them so don’t want to rush to finish either. I’m pretty deep into both of these and they’re getting so good!

I went to the Edinburgh (and final) stop of V.E. Schwab’s Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil book tour this last Monday, it was such a wonderful evening. I’ve seen V speak about her books several times throughout the past nine years and every time it re-solidifies her as my favourite author and one of my favourite humans. She’s just brilliant. I even got one of the iconic “Toxic Lesbian Vampires” tote bags! Thank you to The Portobello Bookshop for hosting such a fantastic bookish evening.

I’ve also just started a DC Comics trade paperback: Dark Knights of Steel Vol. 1. This story sees Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman re-imagined in a medieval fantasy world. I’ve only read the first issue out of twelve and there’s already been a pretty huge twist! Harley Quinn (my beloved) is an actual court jester in this too!

What have you finished reading?

I’ve only finished reading Cosmic Censorship Vol. 1. This was an eARC from NetGalley and Titan Manga. I’ve just posted my review for it, you can catch it here: Review | Cosmic Censorship by Ryu-Ichi Sadamatsu. It didn’t peak my interest like I thought it would. Its advertised for fans of classic Mecha and science fiction manga but volume 1 kind of just drifts along casually instead of providing heart-racing action.

What will you read next?

This month I’m reading a few books. Last week, I introduced my new monthly Stephen King read-a-long series ‘King of the Month‘ and for July we’re reading IT! A few of you have already said you’ll be joining me and I’m so excited for it! I’ll also be re-reading The Shadow Gate (Dragon Spirits, book 2) by L.L. MacRae, this time I’ll be listening to the audiobook. I’m reading this ahead of the release of The Broken Sword – the final in the trilogy – coming July 25!

Happy reading! 📚

I recently hit 1000 bookish friends on Instagram. Come say hi!
