I’ve been reading “NetGalley Update/Check In” posts for the majority of my time in the book blogging community but never done one myself as I didn’t use the book reviewing site. I wanted to get back into reviewing ARCs but because I no longer have a “popular” Bookstagram account, my chances of me getting physical ARCs from publishers has dwindled dramatically.

I deleted my Bookstagram in 2021 not long after starting my current job. I’m often away from home for work so just wasn’t able to make enough content so Instagram does what it does best and completely killed my account engagement, even when I did post. It just wasn’t worth keeping anymore (but in all honesty I’d fallen out of love with Bookstagram due to the pressure of having to post so much just to stay relevant). 

I made a NetGalley account last week and was approved for my first book!
