Before anyone gives me judgement for only setting my reading goal to 12 books a year, let me explain. The Goodreads Reading Challenge, in general, doesn’t matter. I set it to 12 because that’s 1 book per month. This is totally achievable for me now but a few years ago I would barely finish a book in a year. I set it to this so if I got to the end of a month and I hadn’t finished anything it would just be a reminder for me to pick up a book. I had a few months this year where I didn’t pick anything up at all and a few where I read multiple books a month. Obviously life happens, I’m busy with work a lot and sometimes am too busy or tired to read. At the end of the day it isn’t important as long as I keep reading for enjoyment or to expand my knowledge. 📚
