Of course as soon as I start a weekly post schedule I miss the second week! Apologies for no update last week, time just got away from me. Unfortunately I was unable finish any books the past couple weeks but I did start two new ones.

Since summer is slowly but surely coming to a close I’ve been craving a spooky read. I started reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I bought this copy from Barnes & Noble while I was in the US back in May. I’ve been wanting to read Bradbury for several years now but I have absolutely no interest in Fahrenheit 451. I’d heard great things about this spooky circus book so decided to pick it up. I’ve read 89 pages so far am enjoying it.

I know I’m on a book buying ban, you don’t need to remind me… but I did purchase a new book. π I fully intended to just peruse through Waterstones and just add items to my wishlist, but after reading a back-cover review describing this book as “Beauty and the Beast – but make it gay and Gothic” I just couldn’t leave without it. This isn’t a straight up romance novel and romance in books isn’t usually what I go for in general. Bitterthorn by Kat Dunn is about essentially about an unwanted Princess being whisked away by the Witch in the wood – whose been ensnaring fear into the remote forests of Blumwald for hundreds of years. I’m currently on page 83 and have plans to finish it by the weekend. It’s interesting so far as there’s plenty of mystery surrounding the Witch and her castle, just waiting for some more Gothic elements to take over the story.
